Wada still best man for the job&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10371\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10367\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0<span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10372\">\u200e Kogi state Governor, Idris Wada, has been described as the best man for the job who deserves to return as he braces for the forthcoming Governorship election.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10374\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10376\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10375\">Special Adviser Strategy&#8217; Jacob Edi in a statement maintained that Wada has done good to justify a second term in office.<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10378\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10379\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10380\">This comes on the heels of a recent endorsement of Wada \u00a0by the States&#8217; Forum of Senior Special Assistants .<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10381\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10382\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u200eChairman of the forum, Isa\u00a0<span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10383\">Adeboye said \u00a0their decision was based on the track record of achievements of the Capt Wada led administration, highlighted some of the projects executed to include the construction and renovation of General Hospitals at, Icheke, Ife-Olukotun, and Iyamoye.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10384\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">On a group that \u00a0urged the People\u2019s Democratic Party ( PDP) ,to dump Wada or kiss government house goodbye, Edi said<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;<em>First of all, the group in question has no monopoly in speaking for the people of Kogi state.Also, just as they are saying the PDP will lose if Governor Wada contests; there are other groups that have also said that the only alternative for the PDP will be the emergence of Wada as the party\u2019s flag-bearer. They include: the Kogi State Elders Forum, students, market women, okada riders and others\u201d<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Edi added that the only possible reason for the group\u2019s statement is malice, but noted that\u00a0<em>\u201cIn politics you can\u2019t have <\/em><em>everyone on your sid\u200ee.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>According to Adeboye other achievements of Wada &#8220;<\/em>\u00a0include the ongoing construction of Kogi state University Teaching Hoital, Anyigba, construction of Kogi Diagnostic Centre, Lokoja as well as the Construction of a Hostel, ICT and Administrative block at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Obangede.,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0In the area of rural development, he said the governor has been able to initiate projects aimed at eliminating poverty and enhancing the wellbeing of the people such as the construction of motorized boreholes, Primary Health Clinics, Classroom blocks as well as rehabilitation of feeder roads., He also used the forum to commend Capt Wada for his leadership style which he noted has helped in promoting religious harmony, Internally Generated Revenue, Youth and Women empowerment, employment in the agricultural sector amongst others, Alhaji Adeboye then appealed to all Kogites both at home and abroad to support Capt Idris Wada for a second term in the interest of the unity, stability and development of the state.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PDP Concerned Group had \u00a0petitioned the party\u2019s Governors\u2019 Forum and the national chairman to drop the incumbent governor of Kogi state, Idris Wada, from running in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10392\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>In its 9 <\/b>page petition, the group said Mr Wada has performed badly and his candidature would not secure victory for the party at the poll.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10395\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10394\"><em id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1436988163507_10393\">\u201cOur party would have won convincingly and retained power in states like Benue Plateau, Adamawa, Niger and even Kwara state, and some other states if only we fielded more acceptable candidates for the said elections.
