Immediate Past Minister for Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has denied<\/p>\n
reports that she handed over “dossier of corrupt deals” under President
\nGoodluck Jonathan to President Mohammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n
She said such reports are “completely false without foundation.”<\/p>\n
In a statement signed by Paul Nwabuikwu on her behalf, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala
\nsaid consistent attacks on her person by persons loyal to the regime of
\nPresident Buhari are purely because “she tried to bring integrity and
\ntransparency to the management of Nigeria’s public finances.”<\/p>\n
The statement reads:
\nThe recent report by the integrity-challenged website, Saharareporters and
\nsome other media that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
\nhas handed over a \u201cdossier of corrupt deals\u201d perpetrated by the Jonathan
\nadministration to President Buhari is completely false and without
\nfoundation.<\/p>\n
This sponsored lie is part of the political attack by the pay masters of
\nSaharareporters against Dr Okonjo-Iweala.<\/p>\n
These attacks will continue given that these individuals are bent on a
\npolitical and personal vendetta against her.<\/p>\n
Why are they angry? It is simply because she tried to bring integrity and
\ntransparency to the management of Nigeria\u2019s public finances which
\nobviously did not suit their interests.<\/p>\n
Saharareporters which has a long history of publishing falsehoods and
\ndistortions against Okonjo-Iweala is a paid tool of these individuals.<\/p>\n
But the lies of Saharareporters and its cohorts will never stop
\nOkonjo-Iweala from loving her country or make her regret serving it, not
\nonce but twice.<\/p>\n
