Pointblanknews.com can reveal that a former Foreign Affairs minister, Ojo
\nMaduekwe paid a whooping $1million per annum, (approximately N230million)
\nto a foreign consultancy firm, for what it described as ‘ providing
\ncounsel and advice’ to the Nigeria foreign ministry.<\/p>\n

The letters of the agreement on July 17, 2009, spells out the job thus ‘
\nprovide counsel and advice to the foreign principal (Nigeria foreign
\nAffairs ministry), regarding bilateral relations with the United states
\nGovernment”<\/p>\n

The contracting firm is one Patton Boggs LLC, situated at 2550 M Street
\nNW, Washington DC.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com which is in possession of the agreement, also learnt
\nthat this same firm were consultants to the former National Security
\nAdviser, Sambo Dasuki.<\/p>\n

The Minister and one Phillip Kaplan on behalf of Patton Boggs signed the
\nagreement.<\/p>\n

The fee was $1m per annum; paid at the commencement of the service,
\nbalance due on the 15th day of the fifth month of the initial engagement.<\/p>\n

Aside from the principal, a separate $250,000 was set aside to cover ”
\nestimated expenses pertinent to the engagement, which held in Patton Boggs
\nTrust Fund.<\/p>\n

Late President Umaru Musa Yar\u2019Adua appointed Maduekwe Minister for Foreign
\nAffairs on July 26, 2007. He was removed from the position when President
\nGoodluck Jonathan dissolved the cabinet in 2010.<\/p>\n

Maduekwe was Transport Minister, Culture and Tourism Minister, Foreign
\naffairs minister, Scribe of the People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP and
\nAmbassador to Canada.<\/p>\n

Efforts made by pointblanknews.com to reach Maduekwe were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Also, emails and phone calls sent to Patton Boggs Spokesperson, Angelo
