President Muhammadu Buhari as we know him to be is a man of his words and
\ncertainly he will examine all incriminating evidences that could lead to
\nthe arrest and prosecution of former or current government officials
\ninvolved in the stealing Nigeria\u2019s crude oil.<\/p>\n
Nigerian Executives involved in illegal sale and diversion of crude oil
\nmonies generally have their money hidden in local and foreign banks, as
\nsuch professional and uncorrupted policing will be needed to successfully
\nfind out those involved in illegal sale of crude oil.\u00a0 The international
\npolice will certainly do their job without fear of compromise.<\/p>\n
Mr. President, the real challenge is the judiciary where corruption
\nremains endemic and dishonesty has longed replaced integrity.<\/p>\n
As we all know the Nigeria\u2019s judiciary continues to profess cleanup of
\ncorruption in the court system but to this day unethical practices on the
\nbench remain chronic as evidenced from complaints by some recently retired
\nChief Justices.<\/p>\n
Again and again, public institutions like the judiciary and their
\noccupiers remain riddled with greed and silent corruption, and some of
\nthese magistrates, judges and justices continue to disregard the rule of
\nlaw with impunity.<\/p>\n
In general, judges are very powerful persons and each has a choice if he
\nor she wants to be fair, competent and impartial or not.<\/p>\n
Mr. Buhari, for many years now, we have had policies, reforms and training
\nto help reduce judicial corruption and other malpractices yet the
\ndysfunctional, harmful, derelict, and even dangerous acts continue to flow
\nout from our different courtrooms.<\/p>\n
As long as our courts are filled with dishonorable persons and\u00a0 \u201call kinds
\nof people” , in the words of former Chief Justice\u00a0 Dahiru Musdapher,
\njudgments\u00a0 will continue to be accompamend with marks of indecency and
\ninjustice.<\/p>\n
President Buhari, if the prosecution of suspected former or current
\ngovernment officials is to yield any gain for the nation let\u2019s do
\neverything to fish out judicial officers with obvious antisocial
\ntendencies as they are threats to public fairness.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s use technology, psychological evaluation process and public disgrace
\nto monitor and screen out those with crooked tendencies, or those whose
\ngrasp of reality is markedly materialistic and who suffer from
\nprofessional shamelessness.<\/p>\n
