The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the Peoples Democratic Party
\n(PDP) is \u201ctoo blind with hatred\u201d to notice President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s
\nhard work with solving the country\u2019s numerous problems.<\/p>\n
It also said PDP could not provide any worthwhile opposition to the
\nAPC-led federal government if its spokesman continues to issue \u201cconvoluted
\nand fustian statements\u201d just so that he can be in the news.<\/p>\n
\u201dToday\u2019s statement is the most tortuous yet by the PDP and, honestly,
\nsounds more like a compendium of beer-parlour gossips and side talks than
\na serious criticism of a sitting government,\u201d the APC said in a statement
\nissued in Lagos on Sunday by Lai Mohammed, its spokesman.<\/p>\n
\u201dTo be in opposition does not mean you have to constitute yourself to a
\nnuisance by rushing to the press with all sorts of hot-air statements. It
\nis the quality, rather than the frequency, of your interventions that
\nmakes you relevant as an opposition in a democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n
It said that in the light of the above, the APC would not dignify the
\nlatest in a series of confused statements by the PDP with any response.<\/p>\n
\u201dWe can only say that we have been justified, and indeed prescient, in our
\nearlier offer to organize a crash course for Olisa Metuh so that he can
\nmore effectively perform his role as the spokesman of the main opposition
\nparty,\u201d the APC said.<\/p>\n
\u201dThose who thought we were joking with that offer can now see that indeed,
\nMr. Metuh is seriously in need of some form of coaching on his new role.\u201d<\/p>\n
The party said for the record, no government in Nigeria\u2019s recent history
\nhad been as focused and systematic as the one headed by President
\nMuhammadu Buhari in restoring good governance, especially coming after the
\nworst stretch of governance, lasting all of 16 years, by the immoral and
\nreckless PDP.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is worth noting that even the leader of the world\u2019s foremost
\ndemocracy, President Barack Obama, said that much during the recent visit
\nto the US of President Buhari, when he described him (President Buhari)
\nas a man of integrity with a clear agenda,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Buhari is working hard every day in the priority areas of
\ntackling security and corruption, rebooting the economy to provide jobs
\nfor our teeming youths and generally to restore good governance. We are
\nsorry for those who are too blind with hatred to see this.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know that the PDP is terrified by the expose of how the Federal
\nGovernment it led has looted the treasury and created an environment for
\nimpunity to thrive, as well as the fate that will befall those who were
\npart of the show of shame and disgust.<\/p>\n
\u201dBut we assure Nigerians that this government will not interfere with the
\nwork of the security and anti-corruption agencies, and also that under the
\nBuhari Administration, only the guilty needs to be afraid.<\/p>\n
\u201dIn the meantime, no amount of mumbo jumbo from the PDP will stop the
\nBuhari Administration from its tough but inevitable task of restoring
