{"id":40894,"date":"2015-07-31T10:58:12","date_gmt":"2015-07-31T09:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=40894"},"modified":"2015-07-31T10:58:12","modified_gmt":"2015-07-31T09:58:12","slug":"i-was-a-danfo-driver-fayose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/i-was-a-danfo-driver-fayose\/","title":{"rendered":"I was a danfo driver \u2013 Fayose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17846\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, yesterday disclosed that he was once a \u2018danfo driver\u2019.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17855\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said this on Thursday during the swearing-in of the new State Executive of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria in Ado Ekiti.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17856\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">He advised them to always respect road regulations, avoid reckless driving and also obey the \u2018don\u2019t drink and drive\u2019 rule.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17853\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, \u201cPlease, I want to commend you for contributing immensely to the development of the state\u2019s economy, but don\u2019t allow yourselves to be used by evil doers. You can see that some kidnappers were paraded recently. Information from them revealed that they have been using some of your members.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17852\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI was once a driver like you. I used the money I got from driving to sponsor myself for HND at Ibadan Polytechnic, but I did not get desperate. All I\u2019m saying is that being a driver you can make it in life. You will become what you want to become in life with hard work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDon\u2019t join evil gang for you to get rich overnight; try and rise through the ladder like we did. Though I am part of you, if you breach the law, I won\u2019t save or spare you. You will be arrested and prosecuted by the security agents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The governor, who recalled that he united the two unions- the RTEAN and the National Union of Road and Transport Workers, during his first term, said the occasion was a sign that good things were coming to Ekiti.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1438334769960_17859\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe should emulate this kind of occasion. This is very good. We will always identify with this kind of achievements. You are doing a good job for this country.
