Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday dismissed suggestions that the
\nBuhari Administration is witch hunting former President Goodluck Jonathan
\nwith the probe of the activities of some agencies.<\/p>\n
On the contrary, he said the administration\u2019s anti-corruption stance is
\ndesigned to check corruption in all areas of the nation\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not about a probe of a past government, that\u2019s not what this is
\nabout. We are talking about our future, we are saying that we must put in
\nplace a clear strategy going forward,\u201d the vice president said at the
\nfuneral of Madam Elizabeth Adesola Mamora, mother of Senator\u00a0 Olorunmibe
\nMamora, at\u00a0 the First Baptist Church, Ijebu-Ife, Ogun State..<\/p>\n
\u201cNot just about ensuring that people are made to pay for looting the
\ntreasury, our system of justice must be fair to ensure that anybody who
\ndoes anything that is wrong is brought to account. We can\u2019t allow impunity
\nto continue. So it\u2019s not about the previous government, it\u2019s about any
\nform of impunity,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Vice President Osinbajo said the anti-corruption effort of the government
\nis a genuine programme aimed at sanitizing the country.<\/p>\n
In his sermon at the service, the head of the Baptist Church in Ogun
\nState, Pastor Segun Jaiyesimi, challenged political leaders to make
\npositive change while alive, especially when they are holding public
\noffice as there will be no opportunity to do so after death.<\/p>\n
The ceremony drew a large crowd of friends, associates\u00a0 and relations from
\nfar and near including APC leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief\u00a0 Bisi Akande,
\nGovernor\u00a0 Ibikunle Amosun\u00a0 of Ogun State, Governor\u00a0 Akinwunmi Ambode of
\nLagos State, former governors of Ogun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and the
