{"id":41306,"date":"2015-08-18T13:44:58","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T12:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=41306"},"modified":"2015-08-18T13:44:58","modified_gmt":"2015-08-18T12:44:58","slug":"any-further-massacre-of-igbos-will-be-more-disastrous-than-1966-fani-kayode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/any-further-massacre-of-igbos-will-be-more-disastrous-than-1966-fani-kayode\/","title":{"rendered":"Any further massacre of Igbos will be more disastrous than 1966 \u2013 Fani-Kayode"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1439891293780_45017\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Femi Fani- Kayode has lambasted the Convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, describing his comments that President Muhammadu Buhari owes Igbos nothing as most insensitive, cruel and Puerile.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1439891293780_45020\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fani-Kayode, who is the the Former Director of Publicity, Peoples Democratic Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, warned that a repeat of the massacre of Igbos as witnessed in 1966 would receive severe consequences.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1439891293780_47989\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is also as several other Igbo groups, including the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, have also accused the President Muhammadu Buhari led government of marginalizing the people of the region.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Buhari is being accused of neglecting the South-East zone in most of the appointments he had made so far.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Junaid Mohammed, had in an interview in one of the national dailies dismissed the statement by a former Governor of Anambra State that the Igbo have not been treated fairly in the governance of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Junaid who noted that people of the Igbo nation have enjoyed favourable treatment, said it was wrong to reward the Igbo simply on the basis of the Nigerian Civil War, which lasted between 1967 and 1970.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mohammed had said, \u201cIf it is about Buhari making the appointments based on merit, I have no problems with it. I don\u2019t believe Buhari or Nigeria owes any Igbo anything. I don\u2019t care what Ezeife says; if they had seceded, there would have been no Nigeria today. As people who acted outside the interest of Nigeria as a country, to expect compensation is a very odd logic.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIf the Igbo don\u2019t like it, they can attempt secession again. If they do, they must be prepared to live with the consequences.
