awarded a triple International Organization for Standardization
\ncertification: ISO\/IEC 27001- for Information Security, ISO 20000 \u2013 for IT
\nService Management and ISO 22301 \u2013 for Business Continuity Management
\nalong with PAS 99:2012 Integrated Management System certification by the
\nBritish Standard Institute (BSI).
\nThe British Standard Institute (BSI) certification recognizes companies
\nthat have implemented systems and structures that ensure their operations
\nare in line with international best practices. With more than 70,000
\ncertified clients and more full-time assessors than any other
\ncertification body worldwide, the BSI Group is one of the largest and most
\nexperienced certification bodies focused primarily on training, auditing
\nand certification of qualified organizations.
\nThe certification attests that Guaranty Trust Bank has instituted
\ninternationally accepted processes that guaranty the security of its
\ncustomers\u2019 information, the ability of the institution to consistently
\nprovide quality service and its capacity to resume business within a short
\ntimeframe in the event of any business disruptions. The Bank embarked on
\ngaining the certification of its Management System Standards last year in
\norder to align with international best practice and meet the increasing
\nexpectations of its various stakeholders.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Theuns Kotze, Regional Managing Director BSI, Middle East
\n& Africa, \u201cTo achieve certification to these standards, a company must
\nshow a continuous, structured commitment towards assessing security risks,
\nmanaging sensitive information, and ensuring a holistic plan is in place
\nto respond to any potential disruptions. In obtaining these
\ncertifications, Guaranty Trust Bank clearly demonstrates that they are
\noperating at this level and meets the needs of their customers\u201d. Also,
\nGTBank is the first organization in Nigeria to obtain and fully implement
\nthese certifications in its operational processes.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the presentation of the certificate, Ohis Ohewerei,
