{"id":41575,"date":"2015-08-27T19:54:31","date_gmt":"2015-08-27T18:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=41575"},"modified":"2015-08-27T19:54:31","modified_gmt":"2015-08-27T18:54:31","slug":"nimasa-introduces-new-seafarers-medical-certification-documents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/pointblanknews-investigations\/nimasa-introduces-new-seafarers-medical-certification-documents\/","title":{"rendered":"Nimasa Introduces New Seafarer\u2019s Medical Certification Documents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nigerian Maritime\u00a0 Admin)istration and Safety Agency(NIMASA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has introduced new Seafarer\u2019s Medical Certification Documents in compliance with extant requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 and Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) 1998 as amended.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting the documents to stakeholders in Lagos recently, the Acting Director General of NIMASA, Mr. Haruna Baba Jauro stated that the current effort at better compliance is one of the key areas in which the Agency plays its role of domesticating International Maritime Laws and Conventions that help to keep maritime activities and the marine environment safe.<\/p>\n<p>The DG who was represented by the Director, Maritime Safety and Seafarers Standards Department, Engr.
