Obasanjo,\u00a0 a shameless liar, an economic illiterate __Soyinka<\/p>\n
Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka had described former President Olusegun a shameless liar whom he has no respect for.<\/p>\n
While responding to a question on at an event tagged: \u201cAn evening with Wole Soyinka\u201d in Lagos on Friday, he said even though he appreciated the fact that Obasanjo as an individual is entitled to his\u00a0 opinion about him (Soyinka), he is nonetheless bothered because \u201cnobody has respect for liar\u201d.
\nThe event organised by the telecommunication giant, Glo mobile\u00a0 telecommunication was geared towards celebrating Soyinka literary feat\u00a0 and the launch of Glo Literary Prize for Undergraduate Students.
\nSoyinka who was responding to a question asking him to respond to the view represented of him by Obasanjo in his memoir, \u201cMy Watch\u201d also borrowed the language of Oyetunde Aboyade to describe Obasanjo as an \u201cEconomic Illiterate\u201d.
\n\u201cObasanjo is entitled to his opinion like everybody. But the question\u00a0 is: who respects the opinion of a liar? And I can prove he is a\u00a0 shameless liar. Like an economist once told him to his face. I mean Oyetunde Aboyade who told Obasanjo to his face that he is an economic\u00a0 illiterate. So if an economic illiterate call me political illiterate, no problem. Even in the book, he told the first lie when said he deployed liars. Anybody like Obasanjo saying he never plotted third term in office, who even as a writer, I know the word to call that,\u201d Soyinka said.
\n\u201cI have been talking to my publisher lately on a new work. It is titled tentatively: \u2018The Republic of Liars\u2019 and Obasanjo featured\u00a0 in it prominently. This is the last I would say about it,\u201d Soyinka said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
