The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party
\n(PDP) has put on hold, all activities pertaining to the yet to be
\ninaugurated committee on the proposed PDP National Conference.<\/p>\n
This decision is to create room for further consultations and exhaustive
\nconsideration by critical stakeholders, of the report of the PDP Post
\nElection Assessment Committee, headed by the Deputy Senate President,
\nSenator Ike Ekweremadu, which is due for submission this month.<\/p>\n
While the national leadership notes and appreciates the eagerness,
\ncommitment and dedication of our leaders and members in the rebuilding
\nof the party, we have also noted the need to allow proper consideration
\nof the report of the Senator Ekweremadu-led Post Election Assessment
\nCommittee accordingly, especially as that committee is headed by the
\nhighest elected PDP member in the nation.<\/p>\n
In that regard therefore, the NWC directs that all activities of the
\nsaid committee on the proposed PDP National Conference be put on hold
\nforthwith.<\/p>\n
The consideration of the report of the PDP Post Election Assessment
\nCommittee will include inputs from members of PDP leadership organs,
\nincluding PDP Governors\u2019 Forum, PDP National Assembly Caucus, Board of
\nTrustees, National Caucus, National Working Committee (NWC) and the
\nNational Executive Committee (NEC), immediately upon receipt of the
\nreport.<\/p>\n
Finally, the NWC reassures that in the final composition of all the
\ncommittees to be inaugurated by the leadership of the party in due
\ncourse, all critical stakeholders will be consulted and all necessary
\ninterests accommodated.<\/p>\n
