Embattled former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke,\u00a0 says she is battling cancer.<\/p>\n

It was however not clear what kind of cancer she has, but most times women are hit by breast or ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n

Diezani who is\u00a0 being investigated by UK\u2019s National Crime Agency (NCA) for alleged corruption, has called on Nigerians to support her with prayers.<\/p>\n

Speaking through Oscar Onwudiwe, her family\u2019s lawyer, the ex-minister,\u00a0 said she was undergoing cancer treatment in the UK and \u201chopes to come out strong to face all the allegations\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Madueke family, like most other families, has its own challenges. For instance, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke has been receiving treatment for cancer in the UK which started while she was in office,\u201d Onwudiwe said in statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe completed months of chemotherapy just last week and she is scheduled to undergo surgery next week in London.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family has been bearing this challenge with prayers and as much grace and fortitude as possible; and would plead with all reasonable Nigerians to pray for her recovery so that she can face these allegations and give account of her stewardship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
