After a cursory look at the Governance style, the Peoples Democratic
\nParty, PDP, says the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, is inept and
\nlacking in what it takes to fix Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The Party said the decline in the economy and the current disenchantment
\namong Nigerians is a pointer that APC has failed and a huge source of
\nworry for the nation’s health<\/p>\n
In a statement by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, the
\nparty noted that APC\u2019s citizens\u2019 disenchantment has been a cause for
\nserious concern for Nigerians, just as it decried what the PDP termed,
\nAPC\u2019s arrogance and insensitivity to Nigerians.<\/p>\n
According to Metuh, the prevailing widespread disenchantment being
\nexpressed by Nigerians over the inept handling of governance and
\ninsincerity so far exhibited by the APC -led Federal Government has become
\na huge source of worry for the health of the nation.<\/p>\n
Metuh said: \u201cThe party notes that the attitude of the APC administration
\nto governance in the last five months and the feelings of a cross section
\nof Nigerians underscore the fact that the PDP, notwithstanding the setback
\nof the last general elections, remains the only true pan-Nigeria vehicle
\nthat guarantees the unity, stability and prosperity of the nation as well
\nas the welfare of individual Nigerians, irrespective of class, creed and
\ntribe.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt now manifest to all that the APC administration is completely bereft
\nof ideas needed to effectively manage the nation, a consequence of which
\nis the sudden decline in the economy, general anxiety and prevailing
\nunhappiness and grumbling among the citizens across board.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe apparent lack of capacity and ingenuity by this APC government to run
\nthe affairs of our dear nation has become evident in the myriads of
\npolitical and economic glitches that have bedeviled the polity since it
\ntook office on May 29.<\/p>\n
\u201cNigerians, going by their comments, are deeply disturbed that instead of
\nfocusing on issues that directly touch on their lives, especially given
\nits long list of campaign promises, the APC administration has remained
\nhigh on propaganda, violating the constitution for partisan capital,
\nhounding perceived political enemies; while at the same time continuing in
\ntheir trick of hoodwinking the populace, using their so-called body
\nlanguage theory in the attempt to appropriate achievements of the previous
\nPDP administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the last five months under the watch of the APC, the polity has become
\nshambolic, with official reports showing sudden decline in the economy
\nwith spiral rate of inflation, stagnation in domestic and foreign direct
\ninvestments, halt in infrastructure development projects in most parts of
\nthe country, with investors scared away due to the prevailing uncertainty
\narising from government\u2019s inability to articulate a precise economic
\npolicy direction.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven more pathetic is the fact that this government has been unable to
\npursue any investment in any of the critical sectors, eliciting public
\nfears of serious economic crisis in the coming years. This is in addition
\nto the heart-breaking fact that the APC administration, in its apparent
\ninsincerity, has been attempting to disown its list of campaign promises
\nupon which it rode to power.<\/p>\n
\u201cInstead, what we witness is an appalling cosmetic governance, where
\nendless drama and theatrics of the APC government have reduced governance
\nto an unproductive reality show, which lack even the basic production
\nquality of regular Telemundo shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis administration has shown itself to be the most unprepared government
\nin the history of our country since independence, be it military or
\ncivilian. This is a verifiable fact and we challenge the APC to prove us
\nwrong by showing Nigerians any government that they are better than, in
\nterms of organization, direction, performance or any other indices within
\nthe period of their first five months in office.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe now have a situation where routine and mundane duties and appointments
\nby government have become subjects of major national discussions, while
\nthe main business of governance suffers, with persons claiming closeness
\nto the seat of power perpetuating financial sleazes in the system under
\nthe so-called \u201cNew Sherriff\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfolding events are beginning to show to Nigerians that the APC is
\nindeed not the desirable alternative to the PDP, but a band of power
\ngrabbers, who swindled the electorate to get into office using false
\npromises and propaganda. This is more so as it has become obvious, given
\nits arrogance, that the APC has no predisposition to change from the
\ninsincerity, ineptitude and undemocratic tendencies it has exhibited in
\nthe last five months.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is on this note that we charge all our members to close ranks and
\nremain committed to the ongoing rebuilding effort in our great party in
\nthe interest of our nation and the welfare of all citizens.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a party built on the strength of the people as the driving force of
\ndemocracy, our interest, at all times lies on the overall wellbeing of the
\ncitizens. We are therefore reengineering and addressing all issues that
\nled to our temporary setback while assuring Nigerians that we will, at the
\nend of the day, present a stronger and more focused platform to rescue our
\ndear nation from the APC and return power to the people, to whom it
