\nNigerians, President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates the Golden Eaglets of
\nNigeria on their victory over Mali in the final match of this year’s
\nUnder-17 FIFA World Cup tournament in\u00a0 Chile.<\/p>\n
President Buhari applauds the exemplary zeal, determination, commitment,
\nhard work, patriotism and soccer artistry which the youthful Golden
\nEaglets put on display throughout the tournament\u00a0 to win the championship
\nfor a record fifth time.<\/p>\n
The President notes with delight that the Golden Eaglets not only won the
\ncoveted Under-17 FIFA World Cup, but they are also bringing home
\nhighly-valued individual awards such as the Golden Boot won by Victor
\nOsimhen for being the tournament’s highest goal scorer and the Golden
\nBall, won by the team captain, Kelechi Nwakali for being the best player.<\/p>\n
President Buhari believes that by their triumph in Chile, the Golden
\nEaglets have shown the world that the indomitable Nigerian spirit is alive
\nand waxing stronger.<\/p>\n
For the President, the Golden Eaglets’ latest victory on the global stage
\nis an affirmation of the significant progress Nigeria is now making
\ntowards positively redefining and rediscovering its potential for
\ngreatness in the comity of nations.<\/p>\n
President Buhari trusts that if all other Nigerians imbibe and exhibit the
\ndoggedness, determination and patriotism displayed by their youthful
\ncompatriots in Chile, Nigeria will surely make faster progress towards
\nbecoming the strong, united, peaceful, secure\u00a0 and prosperous nation
\nenvisioned by its people.<\/p>\n
