Fire brand social critic and retired Assistant Inspector General of
\nPolice, Abubakar Tsav has declared that governor Samuel Ortom is laying a
\nvery dangerous precedence to governance and by so doing digging his own
\ngrave.<\/p>\n
The former Assistant Inspector General of Police who made this
\ndeclaration in response to the current probe instituted against former
\nBenue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam also lamented that people who
\nshould caution and advise the governor are not doing so but rather
\nclapping for, and praising Ortom to high heavens.<\/p>\n
Tsav who made this declaration in a press release further advised Ortom
\nthat the situation may repeat when the governor vacates office as his
\nfollowers could desert him and his successor may also probe him.<\/p>\n
“Tomorrow the situation may boomerang and the same people may desert and
\nabandon him like caterpillar for a greener tree with fresh leafs. Some of
\nour Elders don’t even think of the future. To them, the present is more
\nexacting; Why think of the future? But that future must come”. Tsav
\nwarned.<\/p>\n
Taking a swipe at Ortom he described the current probe as ignorance and
\nover-excitement of being a Governor and advised that people who should
\ntalk are not talking apparently because of the benefits they are deriving
\nfrom the probe. He thus predicted that \u201cTomorrow the hunter may be hunted
\nand there may be gnashing of teeth”.<\/p>\n
While acknowledging the evils of corruption, the former Lagos State
\npolice Commissioner however appealed that the fight should be fought with
\na human face.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn fighting corruption however, we should apply human face. Let us
\nemulate President Buhari in his fight against corruption. The other day,
\nformer President Jonathan visited Buhari in Aso Rock. After a closed door
\nmeeting, they came out beaming with smiles while Buhari saw Jonathan off.
\nThis did not stop the President from probing Jonathan’s government. That
\nis how we expect Ortom to behave; after all, Suswam did not commit the
\nalleged offences against Ortom as a person. Why then should Suswam become
