Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that no amount of intimidation will
\nstop the Senate from investigating the alleged N25 billion Treasury Single
\nAccount (TSA) fraud.<\/p>\n
Saraki was reacting to a motion moved by Sen. Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West)
\nover a newspaper article allegedly blackmailing the Senate for pointing out
\nthe alleged fraud.<\/p>\n
Saraki said would always carry it constitutional against any act that
\ndetrimental to Nigerians.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo amount of either blackmail or intimidation will stop us from doing the
\nwork we have to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a responsibility here to ensure that there are no leakages in
\ngovernment funds and if there are, we will call the attention of the public
\nand do whatever it takes to salvage the situation; it is our responsibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fact about the TSA will come out and everybody will have opportunity
\nbefore the committee to state the fact, the facts will speak for
\nthemselves.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Earlier, Melaye said his attention was drawn to the write-up accusing the
\nSenate of working against President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s effort to implement
\nTSA.<\/p>\n
He expressed concern that the writer could conceive such an idea in spite
\nof the National Assembly\u2019s resolve to work with Buhari in fighting
\ncorruption.<\/p>\n
Melaye recalled that it was the assembly\u2019s stand on the alleged TSA fraud
\nthat led SystemSpecs to refund the one per cent it collected from mopped up
\nfunds to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe commend Mr. President for the implementation of the TSA and for anyone
\nto say the Senate is fighting Mr. President is myopic, parochial and
