The FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello has called for closer relationship between the FCT Administration and the media as the nation strives to build a befitting capital city.<\/p>\n
\nHe made this call on Wednesday while meeting with the officials and members of the FCT Minister\u2019s Press Corps in his office.
\nBello remarked that his Administration values the role of the media as a major stakeholder in the Abuja project and would continue to partner with all stakeholders to build on the existing infrastructure and services.
\nHis words: \u201cAfter receiving briefs from the FCT Legal Services Secretariat in order to guide us, I have decided next to meet with the members of the fourth estate of the realm to show how I value professionalism and partnership.\u201d
\nThe Minister reiterated that every Administration needs the support and cooperation of the media to succeed and this one cannot be an exception.
\nHe equally seized the opportunity to appeal for friendship and support from the media to enable his Administration take Abuja to the next level.
\nBello emphasized that the essence of any government is to provide essential social services that would guarantee quality life to all her citizens and in the case of the FCT Administration, the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
\nHe assured that whatever his Administration would do, it would be in tune with the change mantra of the Federal Government and in the best interest of the people.
\nThe Minister at the occasion made a historic appointment by announcing the Chairman of the FCT Press Corps, Sani Abubakar as his Special Assistant, Media.
\nWhile making his remarks, the FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye thanked the Minister for personally initiating the meeting; stressing that this has indeed made the relationship between the FCT Administration and the media very simple.
