Former Minister of Aviation, and strong critic of the present<\/p>\n
administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that refusal of Department
\nof State Security to release former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo
\nDasuki, for medical attention despite court permission show that they are
\n\u201ctrying to kill him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fani-Kayode, in a statement he issued today, said that by not
\nreleasing Dasuki for medical treatment, the DSS is subjecting him to
\nmental and\u00fd psychological torture.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cAs far as I am concerned they are trying to kill him
\nsimply by denying him the right to see his doctors even though they
\nknow that he is very sick.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf this were not the case then why are they indulging in all this
\ndangerous and reckless drama. If they want to prosecute him that is
\nfair enough but at least they should ensure that he stays well and
\nthat he remains alive and that they don\u2019t kill him. You cannot
\nprosecute a dead body and you cannot charge a man to court after he is
\ndead.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dasuki is being questioned over alleged a $2.2 billion\u00fd arms deal
\nscandal, which he denied being diverted through his office. The DSS
\ntransferred him to custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes
\nCommission (EFCC).<\/p>\n
Fani-Kayode said: \u201cI saw Dasuki on various occasions before his
\narrest and I assure you that he really is very ill. \u201cWhat harm could
\nhave been done by allowing him to see his doctor as the courts
\nordered? Does he not have the right to live and get medical treatment?
\nIs it not clear that there is more to this than meets the eye?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy are people remaining silent when this is a clear case of
\nvendetta, vengeance, wickedness, injustice and a crude attempt to
\ndestroy, silence and kill an innocent man? It is Dasuki today but it
