Former Senate President, David Mark has said he is not a contractor and could not have been involved in the alleged $2.3billion arms deal involving erstwhile National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki by some reports.<\/p>\n
The former senate boss challenged those implicating him in the alleged deals to provide proofs to substantiate their claims, stating it is part of the ploy to destroy his political heritage.<\/p>\n
A statement by his campaign outfit, Door-to-Door for Mark, the former senate president said some online reports linking him to the deal are parts of a calculated attempt to reduce his chances in the rerun election for Benue South senatorial district, ordered by the Election Appeal Tribunal last Saturday.<\/p>\n
The statement signed by Comrade James Oche for the campaign said David Mark is unmoved and will win the election to return to the senate and provide qualitative and effective leadership for the Idoma nation.<\/p>\n
He added that \u201cno amount of orchestrated scandal, blackmail and distortions of facts can diminish our resolve to vote for Senator Mark.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement reads: \u201cOur attention has been drawn to online media reports that our leader Sen. David Mark allegedly got a share from the controversial $ 2.3 Billion dollars arms contract from the office of the former National Security Adviser,(NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki rtd.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe article was circulated by a certain ABDULMALIK INUWA SULAIMAN of no known address. We would have ordinarily ignored this without elevating the tissues of lies with dignified response but for the plethora of enquiries on the matter.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the avoidance of doubts, our leader is not a contractor and did not head any contract awarding institution. He neither got a contract for the said sum of 10.7 billion naira nor did any of his relations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe condemn in no unmistakable terms this unwarranted and unprovoked attack on Sen. Mark for no just cause. We can finger where these falsehood and attacks are emerging from. But we are not worried. They have done their worst using the instrumentality of the appeal tribunal and we are ready for the rerun they proposed . We state without any iota of doubt that any day, anytime our leader, Senator Mark remain the rallying point for the Idoma nation, they will vote for him any day.<\/p>\n
