Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has said that he is working assiduously to make\u00a0 the\u00a0 state an investor’s\u00a0 haven by maximizing the abundant economic resources to create wealth and generate employment.<\/p>\n
The Governor stated this at Ibom International Airport while\u00a0 interacting with Government House Reporters, on arrival from official engagement in Abuja.<\/p>\n
He explained that his frequent trips outside the state is to scout for investors, sign Partnership Agreement and secure approvals for projects to be executed to facilitate the industrialization programme of his administration.<\/p>\n
Governor Emmanuel who stopped at the Airport to inspect the second Runway construction for Cargo Plane executed by Gitto Construzioni Generali, said that the Runway which would be due for inauguration in the first week of July next year, would serve as a perfect alternative in addressing\u00a0 emergencies and described it as an asset capable of generating returns and enhance the license of Cargo operations in the Airport.<\/p>\n
He stated that the quality of service and sincerity of purpose of the construction firm has propelled the payment plan to meet the expectations and expressed appreciation at the work progression . He explained that the\u00a0 International Terminal would be designed to meet standard specifications and that the Technical partners to handle the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Unit would soon be assigned.<\/p>\n
He reiterated his administration\u2019s resolve to strengthen the economic fortune of the state and announced the creation of a marketing and branding Department which he said would highlight the investment potentials and attract investors to the State.\u00a0 He assured that he would not rest on his oars to ensuring that the vision of his divine mandate is actualised.<\/p>\n
The State Chief executive sued for collaboration between the people and the security agencies to make the state habitable stating that next year will witness influx of people to the State as more\u00a0 investors have indicated interest to open shops in the state and called on the people to keep faith with the administration as it cruises on an industrial revolution.<\/p>\n
The project manager Engr. Ghanem Rasbieh, appreciated the state government for giving the company opportunity to showcase their expertise in the building of the Runway and assured that the company would complete the project as stipulated in the contract.<\/p>\n
