The Director of Publicity of the Restoration Campaign Organisation, Hon.
\nJonathan Obuebite has called on the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State
\nCommand and heads of other security agencies to take urgent steps to check
\nthe protest by APC members made up of thugs and hoodlums, who are
\ncurrently on the streets of Yenagoa staging a violent protest.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Restoration Campaign Organisation called on Bayelsans,
\nparticularly business\/shop owners to beware of these protests, as the
\nprotesters have specific instructions to unleash wanton violence and
\nmayhem on the streets of Yenagoa, under the guise of asking INEC to make
\nhaste to declare their candidate as the winner of the December 5
\ngovernorship election.<\/p>\n
It also urged the people of the state to take utmost precaution to steer
\nclear of the protesters and guard against any form of molestation,
\npointing out that, the aim of the protest is to create as much violence
\nand disrupt the peace of the State to compel the APC led Federal
\nGovernment to declare a state- of- emergency in the State, thereby making
\nit impossible for INEC to hold the reschedule election in Southern Ijaw
\nLocal Government Area and create a stalemate until such a time that His
\nExcellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson\u2019s term in office would have
\nexpired.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are calling on Bayelsans, particularly business\/shop owners to beware
\nof these protests, as we have it on good authority that, the protesters
\nhave been instructed to unleash wanton violence and mayhem on the streets
\nof Yenagoa, under the guise of asking INEC to make haste to declare their
\ncandidate as the winner of the December 5 governorship election. As the
\nprotest is bound to get violent, Bayelsans are advised to take utmost
\nprecaution to steer clear of the protesters and guard against any form of
\nmolestation\u201d<\/p>\n
Hon. Obuebite however, expressed the hope that, the security agencies will
\nswing into action to forestall any breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n
The statement assured Bayelsans that, the evil plot will fail, while
\nequally calling on INEC to make haste to declare His Excellency, Hon.
\nHenry Seriake Dickson, the winner of the December 5 governorship election,
\nhaving won the election in 6 out of the 7, where elections have been held
\nand the results declared so far.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are aware that, the aim of the protest is to create as much violence
