The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 1,187\u00a0Nigerians returnees comprising of men, women and children from the\u00a0Republic of Cameroun at the Fufore IDP camp in Adamawa state.<\/p>\n
This was contained in a statement by NEMA Senior Information Officer,\u00a0Sani\u00a0 Datti.<\/p>\n
According to him, another set of returnees numbering 15,000 are\u00a0expected to arrive Nigerian border with Cameroun through Mubi, Adamawa\u00a0State, in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far over 18,600 Nigerians have been returned and received by NEMA\u00a0and other relevant stakeholders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Datti said the returnees were thoroughly screened and profiled by\u00a0security agents before being registered by NEMA and Red Cross\u00a0officials who were on ground to receive them, adding that after a\u00a0successful registration, the returnees were provided with food and\u00a0other basic needs.<\/p>\n
It would recall that thousands of Nigerian citizens that have earlier\u00a0fled to the Cameroun as a result of Boko Haram insurgency have been\u00a0returning home since August, 2015 as a result of improvement in the
