Only<br \/>\nthrough self-determination, can these youth eventually achieve leadership<br \/>\nin their respective communities. In addition to parental guidance,<br \/>\nsociety has responsibility to create opportunities for these young adults<br \/>\nto exercise good leadership.<br \/>\nWe must focus on the practice of leadership rather than the theory. Young<br \/>\nadults should be given the opportunity to practice what they learn, such<br \/>\nas being responsible for designing, organizing, and implementing their own<br \/>\nconferences. Yet for many youth leadership implies a broader involvement.<br \/>\nWe need to encourage youth to pursue their own interests, and help them<br \/>\nintegrate into their local communities. Ultimately, the establishment of<br \/>\nleaders in all aspects of society will eventually improve the lives of all<br \/>\nyouth and people.<br \/>\nAs great leaders it is time for young adults to carry on the torch. Are<br \/>\nthe youth of Nigeria ready to assume the responsibilities? Have they been<br \/>\nproperly prepared to become the new leaders of <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1958530882\"><span class=\"aQJ\">tomorrow<\/span><\/span>? I have been<br \/>\nprivileged to met face-to-face with the best talent that our country has<br \/>\nto offer. There is no doubt in my mind that they as youth posses the<br \/>\npotential to be great leaders. Just look at many personal accomplishments<br \/>\nof some youth, and it is clear that we have far exceeded the prior<br \/>\ngeneration. However, my pride and optimism are tempered by the<br \/>\ninconsistency in leadership development among youth.<br \/>\nThe development of leadership potential is a slow and gradual process that<br \/>\nmust begin from early childhood. Leadership training as a course must be<br \/>\nintroduce into our secondary school syllabus. The spirit of patriotism<br \/>\nmust also be cultivated within our citizens. As patriots tends to be good<br \/>\nleaders who understand the general needs of the society.<br \/>\nAnother point of interest is students unions in the Universites, students<br \/>\nUnion government should be banned in Nigerian Universites. They are mostly<br \/>\ndominated by rascals and tends to teaches criminality and immorality among<br \/>\nour youths, we are all living witness of how the present President of NANS<br \/>\n(National Association Of Nigerian Students) collected a whopping sum of<br \/>\nN30,0000000 (thirty million naira) to campaign for PDP and also went ahead<br \/>\nto award a drug barron.
