Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the Sunday and<\/p>\n
Monday\u2019s Boko Haram attacks in Borno and Adamawa States as
\ndisheartening and an indictment on the All Progressives Congress (APC)
\nfederal government,.<\/p>\n
According to him,\u00a0 the Minister of Information and
\nCulture, Lai Mohammed must explain to Nigerians how the same Boko
\nHaram that he said had been \u201ctechnically defeated\u201d could carry out
\nsuch daring and deadly attacks.<\/p>\n
The governor, who commiserated with the government and people of Borno
\nand Adamawa States, especially those who lost their loved ones in the
\nattacks, said; \u201cin other countries of the world, the government would
\nhave taken responsibility for deceiving and misleading the people and
\napologised.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a statement,\u00a0 Fayose asked; \u201cIf Boko Haram
\nhad indeed been technically defeated as Lai Mohammed made Nigerians to
\nbelieve, what do we call the Sunday and Monday attacks in Maiduguri,
\nBorno State capital and Madagali, Adamawa State?<\/p>\n
\u201cShould we say that the \u2018technically\u2019 defeated Boko Haram insurgents
\nattacked Borno and Adamawa States, killing close to 100 Nigerians and
\ninjuring several others?<\/p>\n
\u201cOnly Lai Mohammed who told Nigerians that Boko Haram had been
\ntechnically defeated can tell us what happened and he must have to
\nexplain how \u2018technically defeated\u2019 insurgents could carry out such
\ndeadly attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n
Governor Fayose, who urged the APC-led federal government to stop
\ndeceiving Nigerians, especially on the Boko Haram insurgency and its
\nanti-corruption fight said; \u201cThis governance by deceit must stop.
\nNigerians deserve to know the truth concerning how they are being
\ngoverned.\u201d<\/p>\n
He challenged the federal government to tell Nigerians how much had
\nbeen spent on security matters since June, this year, saying; \u201cAs it
\nis today, they are just using the anti-corruption fight to shift the
\nattention of Nigerians from their failure to fulfil the promises they
\nmade while seeking votes. They are deceiving Nigerians while diverting
\nSecurity Vote under the pretence of fighting Boko Haram insurgency.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has therefore become pertinent that they are told expressly to
\nstop behaving as if they are still the opposition. They should realise
\nthat election is over and it is already seven months that they assumed
