The People Democratic Party (PDP,) in Bayelsa State has praised the people
\nof Southern Ijaw LGA and others in the the remaining 101 units for their
\nsteadfastness and resilience even in the face of all manners of
\nintimidation during the rerun on Saturday, January 9.<\/p>\n
The commendation came from the Director of Publicity, Restoration Campaign
\nOrganisation, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite, who was full of joy as the party is
\ncruising to victory in the rerun.<\/p>\n
An obviously elated Obuebite in a statement sad, “I want to appreciate the
\npeople of Southern Ijaw local government areas, and those in the other 101
\npolling units, as they listened to our call that they must not allowed any
\nbody to intimidate them, as they step out to excercise their civic
\nresponsibilities.”<\/p>\n
Obuebite\u00a0 enthused further that, “It is very clear with this display of
\ngallantry despite the mayhem unleashed by APC supporters,\u00a0 which has led
\nto deaths of into centers people, that our people are ready for the
\nrestoration government of Hon. Seriate Dickson to continue with its
\nfocused and people oriented governance.”<\/p>\n
Obuebite had\u00a0 few days ago\u00a0 urged the people to stand firm against any
\nform of intimidation.\u00a0 That gauntlet was taken by some\u00a0 communities.<\/p>\n

\nchasing away militants, and forming a formidable vigilante groups to guide
\nelectoral materials\u00a0 till the entire of the rerun.<\/p>\n
\ncommendable gallantry exhibited by the women and youths of Oporoma,
\n<\/span>headquarters of Southern Ijaw local government areas, Ekowe\u00a0 and Otuan
\ncommunities.
\nThis was their way of ensuring that nobody disenfranchise them from
\nexercising their constitutional responsibilities.<\/p>\n
\nand youth who chased away political thugs he had assembled in his compound
\nto undermine the\u00a0 process.\u00a0 While efforts to thwart activities at Oporoma
\n<\/span>was equally resisted as women and youths in their hundreds chased\u00a0 the
\nmilitants away,\u00a0 just as Ekowe community rose to the occasion to stop
