Well, he has been reinstated, thanks to his connection to the all-powerful
\nMinister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazzau.<\/p>\n
Under normal conditions, General Mohammed should have been retired, having
\nbeen allegedly responsible for the massacre, in an ambush by Boko Haram
\nterrorists, of several soldiers.<\/p>\n
However, investigations revealed that Generals Mohammed and Dambazzau are
\nbrothers in-law. Dambazzau’s late wife is said to be the elder sister of
\nMohammed’s wife.<\/p>\n
Dambazzau, who loves to flaunt his influence, sources say, had always
\nboasted to all that he was responsible for General Tukur Buratai\u00fd’s
\nappointment as Chief Of Army Staff, COAS.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian Army had sacked\u00a0 the army commander whose unit\u00a0 opened fire
\non him.<\/p>\n
Sources had said the Soldiers became angry when they saw the bodies of 12
\nof their colleagues being brought back from Chibok. Boko Haram fighters
\nhad killed the soldiers after the militants ambushed a convoy of soldiers
\nreturning from duties in Chibok in 2014.<\/p>\n
A spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Major General Chris Olukolade had
\nannounced the removal of the General Officer commanding the 7th Division.<\/p>\n
General Officer Commanding the then newly created 7 Division of Nigerian
\nArmy, escaped death by the whiskers when soldiers under his command fired
\nshots at him.<\/p>\n
The mutiny, which occurred in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State
\ncapital, may be the biggest \u201cfriendly\u201d blow yet on Nigerian Army\u2019s war
\nagainst Boko Haram terrorists.<\/p>\n
However, Mohammed\u2019s bodyguards and aides were not so lucky as they
\nsustained gunshot wounds from the angry soldiers.<\/p>\n
The attack on the General and his men reportedly occurred when the GOC
\nvisited the cantonment.<\/p>\n
Maimalari cantonment is headquarters of 7 Division, the newest Division of
\nNigerian Army.<\/p>\n
Military sources had told Pointblanknews.com that soldiers at the
\ncantonment had been complaining of insufficient ammunition, food and good
\nallowances prior to the GOC\u2019s visit.<\/p>\n
They were also reportedly unhappy and their morale at its lowest because
\nthere has not been troop rotation for a long time since their deployment
\nto combat Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.<\/p>\n
