Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has challenged the Minister of<\/p>\n

Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed to make public names of the 15
\nformer governor and 55 Nigerians that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion
\nbetween 2006 and 2013 or keep his mouth shut permanently.<\/p>\n

He said; \u201cThe reality is that the All Progressives Congress (APC)
\nFederal Government has destroyed the economy within eight months in
\npower and rather than look for solutions to the problems facing
\nNigeria, Lai Mohammed and his cohorts are branding bogus figures about
\nstolen money just to cover up their lack of solution to the country\u2019s
\neconomic problems.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor, who also described as disgraceful, bringing the Peoples
\nDemocratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh to
\ncourt in handcuff, said; \u201cEven the masterminds of Mandala and Nyanya
\nbomb blasts, Kabiru Sokoto and Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche were not handcuffed
\nwhen they were arraigned in court.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement,\u00a0\u00a0 Governor Fayose said it was funny that
\nclose to one year after it won the presidential election, the
\nPresident Mohammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) federal
\ngovernment was still operating as if it was campaigning for votes.<\/p>\n

The governor said; \u201cThey are turning governance to Nollywood, such
\nthat when one movie is about to end, they release another one. As it
\nappears that the $2.1 billion arms deal movie is getting to an end,
\nLai Mohammed introduced another movie titled; N1.34 trillion loot.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately for them this time around, Nigerians have become tired
\nof watching the Federal Government movies, they now want reality.
\nNigerians are now aware of the scam in the $2.1 billion arms deal
\nmovie having seen that the amount those already charged to court were
\ncharged with is not more than N10 billion and $2.1 billion is over
\nN600 billion.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, Lai Mohammed must either tell Nigerians details of the 15
\nformer governors and 55 people that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion,
\nwhere the stolen money is kept and bring back the money or apologise
\nto Nigerians for lying.\u201d<\/p>\n

While describing the persistent claim by the federal government that
\nthe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) destroyed Nigeria for 16 years as
\nhypocritical, Governor Fayose said Nigerians must begin to ask which
\nparty majority of those presently ruling the country under the APC
\ngovernment were between 1999 and 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cMajority of those who ran the Federal Government between 1999 and
\n2003 under the PDP are in the APC government today. President, vice
\npresident, ministers, governors, senators and House of Reps members
\nwho were part of the PDP government are now in APC. Yet, APC keeps
\ntelling Nigerians that PDP ruined the country. This hypocrisy must
\nstop,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The governor, who insisted that due process of the law must be
\nfollowed in fighting corruption, noted that disobedience to court
\norders itself is a criminal offence that is more grievous than
\ncorruption.<\/p>\n

He said no amount of harassment and intimidation will silence
\nopposition in the country, saying President Buhari and his men should
\nrather get used to the reality that opposition must exist in a
\ndemocracy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
