The Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger<\/p>\n
Delta Development Commission, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, has approved the
\nimmediate redeployment of management staff of the Commission as part of
\nongoing efforts to improve service and project delivery.<\/p>\n
A memo signed by the Acting MD\/CEO announced the movement of 21 officers
\nto new responsibilities, covering Legal Services, Procurement, Project
\nMonitoring and Supervision, Administration, Environmental Protection and
\nControl as well as Education, Health and Social Services.<\/p>\n
Other officers were also redeployed to Youths, Sports, Culture and Women
\nAffairs, Information Technology, Special Duties, Community and Rural
\nDevelopment, Agriculture and Fisheries, Corporate Affairs, Project
\nManagement and SERVICOM Unit, while others were reassigned in seven State
\nOffices, namely, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Imo, Rivers and Ondo.<\/p>\n
Twelve officers retained their positions. These are in Planning, Research,
\nand Statistics, Human Resources, Finance and Supply, Utilities,
\nInfrastructural Development and Waterways, Commercial and Industrial
\nDevelopment, Internal Audit, Security as well as Public-Private
\nPartnerships.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Semenitari said the redeployment is part of her strategy to
\nstrengthen NDDC to achieve its mandate of facilitating the development of
\nthe Niger Delta region, as well as ensure that the Commission helps to
\nmeet the Federal Government\u2019s goal of improving the living conditions of
\nthe people.<\/p>\n
The NDDC boss reiterated that her objective is to \u201cre-professionalise the
\nworkforce to create a new generation of officers with sufficient skills,
