{"id":45993,"date":"2016-01-28T11:01:55","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T10:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=45993"},"modified":"2016-01-28T11:01:55","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T10:01:55","slug":"arms-deal-my-comments-will-affect-court-processes-jonathan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/arms-deal-my-comments-will-affect-court-processes-jonathan\/","title":{"rendered":"Arms Deal: My Comments Will Affect Court Processes-Jonathan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Goodluck Jonathan was at his dodgy best <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1291122751\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Wednesday<\/span><\/span> in<br \/>\nGeneva Switzerland, as he parried questions over investigation into the<br \/>\nprocurement of arms by his administration for the fight against Boko<br \/>\nHaram.<\/p>\n<p>The former president said: \u201cI would have loved to speak extensively on<br \/>\nthis issue [arms deal] because, even back home, when I read the papers a<br \/>\nnumber of people say former President Jonathan must make comment (on the<br \/>\ncontroversial $2.1bn arms deal).<\/p>\n<p>But in our country, there are laws; when an issue is before a court of<br \/>\nlaw, people who have one thing or the other to do with that are not<br \/>\nexpected to make comment, because it is considered as prejudice.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking at the Geneva Press Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former president if I make any comment it will affect the court<br \/>\nprocesses, witnesses and so on.
