Senate President President, Bukola Saraki has expressed disappointment<\/p>\n
over the Supreme Court ruling which affirmed the decision of the Code of
\nConduct Tribunal, CCT, to arraign him for false declaration of assets.<\/p>\n
In a Statement signed by his Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuf
\nOlaniyonu, Saraki said while the facts of the substantial matter was not
\nwhat the Supreme Court ruled on, he is confident of proving his innocence
\nwhen the matter goes to trial.<\/p>\n
The Statement reads:
\nAfter listening to the ruling of the Supreme Court in the appeal he filed
\nto challenge the process of arraigning him before the Code of Conduct
\nTribunal, Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki hereby states as
\nfollows :
\n1. He expresses disappointment over the Judgment of the apex court in the
\ncountry on the six grounds of his appeal<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 He however will like to put it on record that the facts of the
\nsubstantial matter are not before the Supreme Court since the apex court
\nwas only invited to rule on some preliminary issues in the process of
\ncommencing the trial.
\n3. The Senate President believes he will have his day in the court to
\nprove his innocence of the charges preferred against him during the trial
\nproper.
\n4. Dr. Saraki will like to thank everyone who has expressed support for
\nhim from the beginning of the case. He assures everyone that at the end of
\nthe day truth will prevail and justice will be served.
