Minister for State, Petroleum and Group Managing Director, NNPC, Dr. Ibe
\nKachikwu has said that the NNPC has not been unbundled as reported in the
\nmedia.<\/p>\n
Kachikwu told State House Journalists after the meeting of Federal
\nExecutive Council, FEC, that NNPC was only reorganized.<\/p>\n
This is what he told reporters:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have not unbundled NNPC. We had a press conference yesterday where I
\nexplained this. What we have simply done is reorganisation. We have five
\nbusiness entities focused on business: Upstream, Downstream, Refineries,
\nGas and Power that are there before.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is also Ventures that capture all our little companies that were
\nnot having proper stewardship. They are run by individuals who report to
\nthe GMD. The NNPC is still a whole. There is nothing new that has
\nhappened.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have tried to explain this and I am sure the NNPC workers are members
\nof the family, they will understand. We are going to have a meeting, and
\nthey will be made to understand. Perhaps the engagement has not been good
\nenough.<\/p>\n
\u201cNNPC has not been unbundled in the sense of breaking up NNPC into
\ndistinct institutions. I am concerned. I don\u2019t want the industry shut
\ndown. I am sure we are going to resolve the issues very soon\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
