Former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Mr
\nChibuike Amaechi has dared the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, to come
\nout with all his \u2018criminals \u2018 in the March 19 National and State Assembly
\nre-run in Rivers State as he has threatened.<\/p>\n
He said the All Progressives Congress, APC members would be waiting.<\/p>\n
Amaechi made this known while speaking as a guest on Rhythm 93.7 FM
\ncurrent Affairs Programme \u201cView Point\u201d in Port Harcourt on Saturday .<\/p>\n
He accused Governor Wike of abdicating his responsibility of protecting
\nlives and property.<\/p>\n
Amaechi, a former Rivers governor said he had been inundated with calls of
\ncrying and helpless Rivers people who are faced with deaths and
\nintimidation by the Rivers State Government under Wike.<\/p>\n
He accused the Rivers Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, of complicacy
\nwhile members of APC were being killed and beheaded.<\/p>\n
On the military presence in some parts of Rivers State, Amaechi said their
\npresence is as result of the failure of the State Governor and the Police
\nto do what is needful while the state is bleeding.<\/p>\n
Amaechi said: \u201cThe Military went to Ogoniland to fish out one Solomon
\nNdigbara but when they got there they were attacked by Ndigbara and his
\nboys. Soldiers are human beings, they have right to retaliate in self
\ndefence.\u201d<\/p>\n
One caller who gave his name as Kennedy Friday, an Ogoni phoned into the
\nprogramme and said: \u201cI am an indigene of Rivers state. Please the state is
\non fire. You don\u2019t know what to say or you get killed. Just yesterday,
\nFriday, somebody was dragged from his House in Nyeche community and was
\nkilled. What can your Excellency do to help the state. The state is on
\nfire?\u201d.<\/p>\n
Amaechi said that the Rivers State Government under Governor Wike has so
\nintimidated his opponents to the extent that APC members are scared to
\neven come out and campaign or identify themselves as APC members.<\/p>\n
The Minister said he has arrived the state to lead APC campaign and with
\nhelp of the security agencies to forestall violence that gave PDP victory
\nwhen as Minister of State for Education, Wike was given the powers of
\ncontrolling the Service commanders in the state by former President
\nGoodluck Jonathan.<\/p>\n
He said the present scenario President Muhammadu Buhari would not allow
\nsuch killing in the state to continue but Wike as Governor has to show
\nleadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose who are being killed are all APC members. The level of killings did
\nnot happen when I was Governor. You kill people and behead them?Not even
\nBoko Haram was doing that in the North. How can s human being kill a
\nfellow human being and behead him?\u201d<\/p>\n
He regretted that under the present administration children in state are
\ncompelled to pay school fees and overseas scholarship stopped.<\/p>\n
Amaechi lamented that because he came from a very poor background and his
\nparents found it difficult to pay his fees, as Governor he felt the best
\nlegacy you can bequeath to your children is education.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, he said \u201cWike does not believe in education for the poor.
\nThat is why schools have been abandoned and allowed to be overgrown with
\nweeds.<\/p>\n
Amaechi said he returned from Abuja to Rivers State to lead his party to
\nvictory at next Saturday\u2019s national and state assembly re-run elections in
\nRivers State.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet Nyesom Wike come out with his criminals next week Saturday. I have
\ncome back. He worked as a \u2018Tiger\u2019 during the General elections in 2015.
\nThis time I will work like a \u2018Dog\u2019 during next Saturday Rerun\u201d<\/p>\n
Amaechi also assured his supporters that there was nothing to worry about
\nbecause security will be provided for them during the rerun next week.<\/p>\n
He vowed that security agencies would not allow violence that happened in
