The Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has allegedly<\/p>\n
granted bail to Yunusa Dahiru, alias Yellow, the alleged abductor of 14
\nyears old Ese Oruru, to the tune of N3million.<\/p>\n
This was revealed by a non-governmental organisation, KHAN Initiative,
\nwhich started the campaign for the freedom of Ese from her abductor.
\nAccording to a post by the organisation on Twitter and Facebook, Yunusa
\nwas granted bail in the sum of N3m with two sureties.
\nHe was arraigned on a five-count charge of criminal abduction, illicit
\nsex, sexual exploitation and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor. The
\npolice prosecuting team was led by Kenneth Dika from the Force
\nHeadquarters.<\/p>\n
The charge read: \u201cThat you, Yunusa Dahiru, a male, resident in Opolo-Eipie
\narea of Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, conspired with the duo of Dankano
\nMohammed and Mallam Alhassan, between August 2015 and February, 2016, to
\ncommit an offence of abduction and thereby committed offence punishable
\nunder section 27(a) of the Trafficking in Persons (prohibition)
\nEnforcement and Administration Act, 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n
Count two: \u201cThat you, Yunusa Dahiru, abducted Ese Oruru by means of
\ncoercion, transported and harboured her in Kano State and thereby
\ncommitted an offence punishable under section 13(2)(b) of the Trafficking
\nin Persons (prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n
Count three: \u201cThat you, Yunusa Dahiru, induced Ese Oruru by the use of
\ndeception and coercion to go with you from Yenagoa to Kano State with
\nintent that she be forced or seduced into illicit intercourse and thereby
\ncommitted an offence punishable under section 15(a) of the Trafficking in
\nPersons (prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n
Count four: \u201cThat you, Yunusa Dahiru, procured Ese Oruru and subjected her
\nto sexual exploitation in Kano State and thereby committed an offence
\npunishable under section 16(1) of the Trafficking in Persons (prohibition)
\nEnforcement and Administration Act, 2015.\u201d
\nCount five: \u201cThat you, Yinusa Dahiru, had unlawful carnal knowledge of Ese
\nOruru without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to
\nsection 357 of the criminal code Act and punishable under section 358 of
