The Presidency formally dissociates\u00a0 itself from the #Istandwithbuhari<\/p>\n
advocacy group and demands that the group should immediately stop claiming<\/p>\n
any alliance with the Buhari Administration.<\/p>\n

The Presidency also demands that the persons behind the controversial<\/p>\n
#Istandwithbuhari\u00a0 group should stop using President Muhammadu Buhari’s<\/p>\n
name and that of his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari to promote<\/p>\n
themselves and their activities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Among other reasons, we have found it necessary to distance the Presidency<\/p>\n
from the #Istandwithbuhari\u00a0 group because its premature and ostentatious<\/p>\n
celebration\u00a0 of the present administration’s achievements is totally<\/p>\n
inconsistent with President Buhari’s philosophy of service with humility.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While the present\u00a0 administration has indeed recorded significant<\/p>\n
successes in its priority areas of improving security across the nation,<\/p>\n
ending the Boko Haram insurgency, curbing official corruption and<\/p>\n
revamping Nigeria’s economy, President Buhari is well aware that his<\/p>\n
government still has a lot of national challenges to overcome.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The President prefers to give his fullest attention to addressing those<\/p>\n
challenges without the unsolicited and unwelcome distraction of untimely<\/p>\n
praise-singing from groups with dubious and questionable motives.<\/p>\n
