Ekiti State Government has said that the State Governor. Mr Ayodele<\/p>\n
Fayose was not borrowing money to execute capital projects, adding
\nthat the governor will continue to be transparent in his handling of
\nthe State finances.<\/p>\n
Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communications and New
\nMedia, Lere Olayinka, who reacted to the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) claim that the governor borrowed N10 billion to construct
\nFlyover Bridge in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, said \u201cGovernor
\nFayose\u2019s government is not profligate like APC government of Fayemi
\nthat took loans to plant flowers that were not seen, construct
\nuncompleted state pavilion and civic centre and build governor\u2019s lodge
\nfor the benefit of Fayemi and his wife.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said the Governor will continue to hold the welfare of workers
\nsacrosanct by taking payment of salaries as his priority, adding that;
\n\u201cThe challenges being faced by the government in paying workers salary
\nwas as a result of the way and manners the APC government of Fayemi
\nmortgaged the State to irrelevant loans.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, over N900 million is being deducted from Ekiti State
\nallocation monthly and this is because of the loans the APC government
\ntook to execute white elephant projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cPerhaps, because of the way they used irrelevant capital projects to
\nsteal Ekiti State blind, they still carry on with the belief that
\nother people must also be like them.\u201d<\/p>\n
On the desirability of the projects, Olayinka said; \u201cTo the APC
\nelements in Ekiti State, no project is desirable provided their party
\nis not in power. Before Fayemi became governor, he condemned the Ekiti
\nAirport project the PDP government of Engr Segun Oni started it, but
\nin 2013, the same Fayemi blamed the PDP government of Dr Goodluck
\nJonathan for stalling the Airport project.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, when the magnificent edifice built in honour of Fayemi\u2019s
\ndeputy, Late Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka was being constructed, these same
\nAPC loudmouths said Governor Fayose was desecrating the woman\u2019s tomb
\njust the same way they said Segun Oni was desecrating Fajuyi\u2019s tomb
\nwhen he was building the Fajuyi Park.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are therefore not bothered by their ogogoro induced criticism
\nbecause we know as a fact that since Fayemi, their leader wasted his
\nopportunity to write his name in the hearts of Ekiti people, they want
