Sokoto state, in collaboration with the government of Niger Republic, will
\nestablish a cluster of new schools that will be run on dual curriculum of
\nEnglish and French, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has announced.<\/p>\n
Speaking after he attended the inauguration of President Mahamadou
\nIssouffou in Niamey, the Niger capital, Tambuwal said the schools will be
\nestablished in border towns with the first, to be sited in Gudu LGA of
\nSokoto, coming on stream before the end of 2016.<\/p>\n
“The schools will promote cultural ties between the two governments and
\nwill train new set of students that will be proficient in both English and
\nFrench,” the Governor said.<\/p>\n
Tambuwal said the people of Sokoto have long cultural and historical ties
\nwith its neighbours across the border, and government will introduce wide
\nranging policies that will enhance the ties.<\/p>\n
While restating the determination of his administration to raise the
\nstandard f education in Sokoto, the Governor said the state of emergency
\ndeclared in the sector last December has made appreciable impact and its
