Few days after after calling out his party on the lingering fuel scarcity, APC top gun, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has reversed himself.<\/p>\n
He has asked Nigerians to blame the PDP\u00a0 for the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country.<\/p>\n
He had blasted the minister of state, petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, for his outrageous remark on the fuel crisis. He insisted the administration owes the people a duty to fix the problem and not make excuses.<\/p>\n
He had said ” The remark did not sit well with the Nigerian people; they were as right to feel insulted as the Minister was wrong to have said such a thing. The fuel shortage is severely biting for the average person. They are forced to remain in lines far too long, for too much time, to pay too much money for too little fuel. This is no joking matter. Livelihoods and people\u2019s welfare are at stake. With so much on the line, Kachikwu\u2019s flippancy was out-of-line. He was basically telling Nigerians that they should be lucky that they are getting the inadequate supply they now suffer and that they should just be quiet and endure the shortage for several weeks more”<\/p>\n
Speaking\u00a0 in Lagos\u00a0 Tinubu said the PDP destroyed Nigeria during its 16-year rule.<\/p>\n
The APC chieftain said the PDP refused to pursue what was necessary for the growth and development of the country.<\/p>\n
He said\u00a0 \u201cWe want to stay focused and redirect Nigeria. We want to reverse the decay of 16 years. We are hearing comments from the PDP left and right. We are saying we want to clear the mess they created. For 16 good years, the PDP destroyed the country. We should not be lamenting over petrol queues today if they had seen what was necessary and done what was necessary for this country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t be emotional and live in self-denial.\u00a0 They should have done the Awolowo Road and the Lagos\/Ibadan Expressway. If they put priority on our railroad, if they put priority on electricity generation and distribution, we will not be in this mess\u00a0 today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tinubu also debunked the speculation in some quarters that Nigerians were dissatisfied with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cNigerians are not impatient with the APC government; they just want to see the direction of the economic policy and want to be certain of the future.
