{"id":48336,"date":"2016-04-09T14:47:38","date_gmt":"2016-04-09T13:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=48336"},"modified":"2016-04-09T14:47:38","modified_gmt":"2016-04-09T13:47:38","slug":"buhari-jets-china-week-long-state-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/buhari-jets-china-week-long-state-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari Jets Out To China For A Week Long State Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_361507228\"><span class=\"aQJ\">tomorrow<\/span><\/span> for a working visit<br \/>\nto China aimed at securing greater support from Beijing for the<br \/>\ndevelopment of Nigeria&#8217;s infrastructure, especially in the power, roads,<br \/>\nrailways, aviation, water supply and housing sectors.<\/p>\n<p>President Buhari&#8217;s talks with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and<br \/>\nthe Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples\u2019 Congress,<br \/>\nZhang Dejiang will also focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in<br \/>\nline with the Federal Government&#8217;s agenda for the rapid diversification of<br \/>\nthe Nigerian economy, with emphasis on agriculture and solid minerals<br \/>\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that in the course of the visit, several new\u00a0 agreements<br \/>\nand memorandums of understanding\u00a0 \u00a0to boost trade and economic relations<br \/>\nbetween Nigeria and China will be concluded and signed.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements include a Framework Agreement between the Federal Ministry<br \/>\nof Industry, Trade and Investment and the National Development and Reform<br \/>\nCommission of the Peoples&#8217; Republic of China to Boost Industrial<br \/>\nActivities and Infrastructural Development in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Others are a Framework Agreement between the Federal Ministry of<br \/>\nCommunications and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation,<br \/>\nand a Memorandum of Understanding between Nigeria and China on Scientific<br \/>\nand Technological Cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with his administration&#8217;s prioritization of economic<br \/>\ndiversification and industrialisation to boost employment, President<br \/>\nBuhari and his delegation will tour the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and the<br \/>\nGuangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone to gain more useful<br \/>\ninsights and understanding of the policies that underpinned China&#8217;s<br \/>\nastronomical economic growth in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The President, whose entourage will include some state governors as well<br \/>\nas the Ministers of Agriculture, Water Resources, Transport, Defence,<br \/>\nPower, Works &amp; Housing, Industry, Trade &amp; Investment, Federal Capital<br \/>\nTerritory, Science &amp; Technology and Foreign Affairs, will also open a<br \/>\nChina-Nigeria Business\/Investment Forum in Beijing and meet with members<br \/>\nof the Nigerian Community in China before returning to Abuja at the<br \/>\nweekend.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja tomorrow for a working visit to China aimed at securing greater support from Beijing for the development of Nigeria&#8217;s infrastructure, especially in the power,&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":45651,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-48336","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
