{"id":48398,"date":"2016-04-11T14:25:35","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T13:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=48398"},"modified":"2016-04-11T14:25:35","modified_gmt":"2016-04-11T13:25:35","slug":"counsel-needs-time-metuh-tells-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/counsel-needs-time-metuh-tells-court\/","title":{"rendered":"My counsel\u00a0 Needs More Time \u2013 Metuh tells\u00a0 Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The embattled spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, on Monday urged the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to allow his counsel more time to prepare to defend his company, Destra Investment Limited.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Counsel to Metuh\u2019s company, who is standing trial alongside the former as the second defendant in the ongoing prosecution, Toochukwu Onwuibufo made an oral application, seeking for more time and facilities to enable him prepare for defence.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Onwuibufo sought for time and documents of court proceedings to enable him prepare, adding that he was only brought into the matter last week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Metuh, alongside his company, Destra Investment Limited are standing trial on a 7 count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N400m, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alleged he collected from the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col.
