{"id":48513,"date":"2016-04-14T10:49:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-14T09:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=48513"},"modified":"2016-04-14T15:23:26","modified_gmt":"2016-04-14T14:23:26","slug":"bbog-barred-from-aso-rockezekwesili-says-this-reminds-us-of-military-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/bbog-barred-from-aso-rockezekwesili-says-this-reminds-us-of-military-rule\/","title":{"rendered":"BBOG barred from Aso Rock\u2026Ezekwesili Says &#8220;This Reminds us of Military Rule&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Members of the BBOG movement were few hours ago\u00a0 prevented from having access to the presidential villa,\u00a0 Abuja.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The protesters had set out from the Unity Fountain in Abuja around 10:30am, but met a wall of police officers on the road leading to the villa.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The group led by Oby Ezekwesili ,were stopped security operatives as they attempted to deliver a letter of protest to President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The group is angry over what it called lukewarm attitude towards the plight of the missing Chibok girls.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The group had romanced the opposition and vilified ex President Goodluck Jonathan.\u00a0 The opposition, and Buhari took advantage of the situation to promise the nation,\u00a0 the girls would be returned if they get power.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ezekwesili\u00a0 described the prevention of the group from accessing the presidential villa as a reminder of the\u200e military era.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Addressing journalists shortly after the police stopped the protesters, Ezekwesili said the presidency had been notified of its procession to the villa gate, where the citizen movement was to deliver a message to the government.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">She expressed surprise that the group was stopped, saying BBOG would deliver its message\u200e on the road notwithstanding the barricade.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The campaigners are at present holding a commemorative session on the busy secretariat road, causing traffic congestion.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the BBOG movement were few hours ago\u00a0 prevented from having access to the presidential villa,\u00a0 Abuja.
