Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has hailed the international<\/p>\n
community, especially the United States of America and the United
\nKingdom for joining lovers of democracy in Nigeria to speak out
\nagainst the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of President
\nMohammadu Buhari’s use of State security apparatus to oppress
\nopposition.<\/p>\n
He called on the British Government to investigate the allegation of
\nthe use of British foreign aid given to Nigeria to help combat Boko
\nHaram terrorists to fund a witch-hunt against opposition politicians
\nwith a view to preventing continuous use of fund belonging to the
\ncountry wrongly.<\/p>\n
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and
\nNew Media, Governor Fayose said the international community must focus
\nattention on Nigeria under President Buhari, saying; “rights of
\nNigerians are now being trampled upon with impunity.”<\/p>\n
In its report, the United States Department of States, accused the
\nNigerian police, DSS and the military of gross abuse of power which
\ninclude citizens brutality, arbitrary detention,bribery among other
\nscandals<\/p>\n
Also, the United Kingdom based Telegraph newspaper published this week
\nthat hundreds of millions of pounds of British foreign aid given to
\nNigeria to help combat Boko Haram terrorists was instead being used to
\nfund a witch-hunt against opposition politicians.<\/p>\n
Governor Fayose, who is presently in Guangzhou, China to attend the
\n119th China Import and Export Fair otherwise known as the Canton Fair
\nbetween April 14 and 19, said the United Kingdom Telegraph newspaper
\nwas right in its report that the Buhari\u2019s government was using British
\naid money to target his political opponents, particularly through anti
\ncorruption agencies ans the Department of State Services (DSS).<\/p>\n
He said only the international community could help prevail on
\nPresident Buhari to respect the rule of law and stop ruling Nigeria
\nlike a military dictator.<\/p>\n
The governor described the United States Department of States report
\nas another vindication of his position on the Buhari-led government’s
\nabuse of the rights of Nigerians, saying; “everything I predicted
\nabout Buhari is coming to pass and the international community must
