Former Chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory(FCT),<\/p>\n
Senator Smart Adeyemi has formally dumped the peoples Democratic
\nParty(PDP) and picked the registration card of the All Progressives
\nCongress APC).<\/p>\n
In a brief ceremony held in his Iyara ward, in Ijumu local Government Area
\nof Kogi state.<\/p>\n
The Senator, in an address said he was joining the APC to enable him serve
\nhis people better.<\/p>\n
He added that he had utilised the mandate given to him in the past to
\nbetter the lots of the people adding that he was hoping that those coming
\nafter him would follow the same footsteps.<\/p>\n
The Seator, who got the Card nunmber 14542741 said he needs to be in the
\nAPC so that he can directly talk to the people in government without a
\nsense of enmity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI need to be in the APC so that we can jointly with Hon Faleke and my
\nbrothers work for the betterment of our people. When I talk to the people
\nin goverbment about the deprivation of our area as a member of the APC,
\nthey will not see me s an enemy,\u201d senator Adeyemi said.<\/p>\n
Deputy Governorship candidate to the late Alhaji Abubakar Audu, Hon James
\nFaleke who attended the ceremony said that Senator Adeyemi is a valuable
\nasset to the APC in the state adding that he was determined to work with
\nhis to better the lots of Kogi West.<\/p>\n
Faleke said: \u201cI am very happy he is joining us. He is my senior
\npolitically and I have a lot of respect for him. He doesn\u2019t need to be in
\npolitics to survive but he has he love of his people at heart.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe job of making the society better is not the task of one man. Anyone
\nwho wants to work for his people will not say people should not join him
\nand that is why I am very pleased with his coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
Zonal Chairman of the APC in Kogi West, Chief Lawrence Asagun, who
\nrepresented the State Chairman, Akhaji Adi Amatu, said that the coming to
\nAPC of Senator Adeyemi meant that the party would no longer have sleepless
\nnights in winning the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was one of those that gave us togh times in winning elections here
\nwhen he was in the PDP, with his coming, we will no longer have sleepless
