The Presidency has described \u00a0the criticism of its economic policies by Oby Ezekwesili, \u00a0as inaccurate, and an \u00a0“<\/span>unclear elitist summary of the economy”<\/div>\n

Ezekwesili \u00a0had described President Muhammadu \u00a0Buhari\u2019s policies as archaic and enabling corruption.<\/p>\n

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who \u00a0heads the National Economic Council, said that there was no evidence to back her claim that the economic policies of the present administration is archaic.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI have read through Dr. Ezekwesili\u2019s statement and I did not see any evidence to back her claim that the economy is archaic.<\/span><\/p>\n

A statement by the VP’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said \u201cWhat is archaic in the attempts by the present administration to diversify the economy and spur technological innovation?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is archaic in the government\u2019s attempt to find long-lasting solutions to the problems facing the country? What is archaic in the Treasury Single Account which has increased the level of transparency in handling government\u2019s revenues?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is archaic in bringing to account those who have stolen our commonwealth and get the resources back to government coffers? What is archaic in fast tracking industrialisation and dealing with infrastructure? All these are economic issues.<\/span><\/p>\n
