The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John<\/p>\n
Odigie-Oyegun has disclosed that the execution of national railway
\nprojects contained in the recently assented N6.06 trillion 2016 National
\nBudget is one of the priorities for the President Muhammadu Buhari
\nadministration.<\/p>\n
While recalling that 30 per cent of 2016 budgetary provision has been
\ncommitted to capital projects, the APC National Chairman identified the
\nrailway projects as one of the critical infrastructural focuses of the
\nadministration.<\/p>\n
Odigie-Oyegun made the disclosure in Abuja at a dinner held in his honour
\nby Saint Patrick\u2019s College (SPC), Asaba, Old Boys Association (Abuja
\nBranch) on Saturday night. The APC National Chairman graduated from the
\nschool in 1957.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs at today, the economy is in the process of being reflated; meaning
\nthat money is being put into the system. Contractors are being mobilised
\nto go back to work. New contracts will be awarded. The railway will be one
\nof the very first priorities. We will for the first time go from Kano to
\nLagos through Benin City all the way to Calabar by rail.\u201d Odigie-Oyegun
\nstated after receiving an achievement award from the Abuja Branch
\nPresident of Saint Patrick\u2019s College (SPC), Asaba, Old Boys Association,
\nOgbuefi Tony Anyameluhor.<\/p>\n
The APC National Chairman said that the administration was in the process
\nof building a new solid foundation and credible image for the country. He
\nappealed for patience and the cooperation from Nigerians as the
\nadministration works to pull the country out of the present hardships.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not shutting our eyes to the pains of the Nigerian people because
\nit is real. It is genuine. We can only plead for patience. Thank God the
\nAPC government has its very first national budget and the implementation
\nof that budget will be passionately pursued.\u201d Odigie-Oyegun said.<\/p>\n
He said in the coming months, the safety net created by the administration
\nto cater for the poorest and vulnerable Nigerians and other economic
\ninitiatives aimed at diversifying and boosting the economy will be
\nimplemented. \u201cThe result at the end of the day is going to be a more
\nvibrant nation which every Nigerian will be proud of.\u201d He said.<\/p>\n
The APC National Chairman thanked Saint Patrick\u2019s College, Asaba Old Boys
\nAssociation for what he described as \u201cwonderful display of love and
\naffection\u201d extended to him. He pledged to support initiatives aimed at
\ndeveloping the school.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the President of Saint Patrick\u2019s College (SPC), Asaba, Old Boys
\nAssociation (Abuja Branch), Ogbuefi Tony Anyameluhor hailed the APC
\nNational Chairman for his focused leadership that led the APC\u2019s victories
\nin the 2015 General Elections. He also urged Nigerians to the patient as
\nthe administration works to rebuild the country.<\/p>\n
Anyameluhor: \u201cMany Nigerians will appreciate what God has done by
\nbringing in a party with zero tolerance for corruption, a party that
\nupholds the principle of one person one vote grounded in free and fair
\nelections at all levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cLess than one year of this administration, looted funds are being
\nrepatriated and they are going to be judiciously used for the benefit of
\nall Nigerians. No doubt, the APC administration is faced with many
\nchallenges which it inherited. What is required from Nigerians is patience
\nas it is easier to destroy than to rebuild.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also, the National President of Saint Patrick\u2019s College (SPC), Old Boys
\nAssociation, Col. Paul Ogbebor while delivering the dinner lecture
\nidentified technology as a key driver to achieving economic transformation
\nin the country. Ogbebor urged the President Muhammadu Buhari
\nadministration to establish a national construction bank, in line with the
\ninfrastructure drive of the administration. He said the bank will amongst
\nothers, check corruption in government payment processes for awarded
\ncontracts.<\/p>\n

\nTijjani Aliyu; APC National Organising Secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso;
\nChairman Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Dino
\nMelaye; Senator Domingo Obende; Chief of Staff to the APC National
\nChairman, Edwin Ikhinmwin, the Ojisi of Ogwashi Ukwu and Patron of Saint
