Agatu is still occupied by Fulani<br \/>\nherdsmen, who have now inhabited the sacked villages without any response<br \/>\nfrom President Mohammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>Pained by the mass murders of his people by Fulani herdsmen, Governor<br \/>\nSamuel Ortom has described the killings as &#8220;genocide&#8221; and ordered the<br \/>\ncattle rearers out of the state saying the state was under siege.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a bad situation now, everyday you hear my people are being killed,<br \/>\nraped by these mercenaries, they do not have respect for rule of law<br \/>\nneither for security personnel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are wicked mercenaries under the guise of herdsmen attacking us and<br \/>\ntaking over our farmland. I have said it several times that we do not have<br \/>\nland for grazing in the state, let them move out of the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a limit to which I can appeal to my people to restrain, from<br \/>\nreprisal attack, if all of them are killed, then I will be the next<br \/>\ntarget. The problem is that if you push them away from one point, they<br \/>\nmove to another point and their style is to kill, destroy farmland and<br \/>\ntake over the land,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to allegations that youths of the town were rustling cattle, he<br \/>\ndemanded the proof of cattle rustling and wondered whether cattle now<br \/>\nequates a human life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the criminal elements among them that always go and steal their<br \/>\ncows.
