{"id":49714,"date":"2016-05-30T20:33:14","date_gmt":"2016-05-30T19:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=49714"},"modified":"2016-05-30T20:33:14","modified_gmt":"2016-05-30T19:33:14","slug":"fayose-buhari-dare-not-stop-travelling-abroad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/fayose-buhari-dare-not-stop-travelling-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"Fayose to Buhari :You dare not stop me from travelling abroad,\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mailview-right\" class=\"offset uibox\">\n<div id=\"messagecontent\">\n<div class=\"leftcol\">\n<div id=\"messagebody\">\n<div class=\"message-htmlpart\">\n<div class=\"rcmBody\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has dared the Federal\u00a0Government to carry out the alleged plot of preventing him from\u00a0travelling out of the country, saying; \u201ci am \u00a0not one of your \u00a0appendages, you have no such powers&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The governor, who reacted to reports that two governors, one from the\u00a0Southwest and another from the South South have been placed on travel\u00a0restriction on President Buhari\u2019s order, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New\u00a0Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said; whenever he wished to travel out Nigeria,\u00a0he will do so in the full glare of the public.<\/p>\n<p>He said; \u201cI am not surprised or disappointed by this latest plot of\u00a0the Buhari\u2019s government because the President Buhari that we know is a\u00a0man without any atom of respect for the rights of Nigerians as\u00a0enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, the Universal\u00a0Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Human and\u00a0Peoples\u2019 Rights and this he demonstrated as a military dictator and\u00a0now demonstrating as a democratically elected president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor said he was however amazed that \u201cthis dangerous dimension\u00a0of compelling a sitting governor that enjoys Constitutional Immunity\u00a0like the President to obtain clearance from the Director General of\u00a0the Department of State Service (DSS) before travelling out of Nigeria\u00a0can ever be contemplated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said President Buhari and his agents should be mindful of the fact\u00a0that under a federal system of government, the states and national\u00a0government both enjoy some autonomy, with sovereign power formally\u00a0divided between the national government and the States such that each\u00a0State retains some degree of control over its internal affairs.<\/p>\n<p>He said; \u201cFew days ago, when Governor Ayodele\u00a0Fayose was reliably informed that President Mohammadu Buhari had\u00a0directed that he should be banned from traveling outside Nigeria, he\u00a0simply took the information as mere rumour, concluding that disrespect\u00a0for the constitution of Nigeria and Buhari\u2019s dictatorship would not be\u00a0extended to the most ridiculous level of preventing a governor elected\u00a0just as the president from traveling out of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thinking of Governor Fayose was that even though the Buhari\u2019s\u00a0presidency was capable of even attempting to prevent those opposed to\u00a0the President from breathing the air, it must still be sane enough to\u00a0be conscious of the consequences of placing any Nigerian under travel\u00a0ban without an order of the court, not to talk of a sitting governor that enjoys constitutional immunity like the President.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"message\" class=\"statusbar\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has dared the Federal\u00a0Government to carry out the alleged plot of preventing him from\u00a0travelling out of the country, saying; \u201ci am \u00a0not one of&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":44217,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-49714","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
