\u2026Family to conduct autopsy<\/em><\/p>\n

As a shell shocked African continent continues to mourn and pour tributes,
\nit has emerged that Nigeria’s football legend, Stephen Keshi, died within
\na space of twenty minutes after he complained of pains in his legs and
\nrequested for a massage.<\/p>\n

The family has now decided to conduct an autopsy on his remains to
\nascertain the cause of death.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his last minutes, the brother-in-law to the former Super
\nEagles captain and coach, Mr Ricky Aburime, said Keshi, who lost his wife
\nsix months ago to cancer, died of “distress and pain”.<\/p>\n

Keshi died at the Faith Mediplex Hospital located off Airport Road in
\nBenin City, Edo State . His remains had been deposited at the Stella
\nObasanjo Hospital Morgue also in Benin City.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeshi had complained of pains and asked that he be massaged. As the
\nmassaging was going on, all of a sudden, we noticed that his countenance
\nchanged and was in distress. \u201cHe said he didn\u2019t like the way he was
\nfeeling.<\/p>\n

The person that was with him, Ebuka, rushed out and requested that he
\nshould be taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was taken to a nearby hospital about 11:30p.m. and before we got there
\na few minutes to midnight, he had given up the ghost. It was the nurse
\nthat first checked his pulse and confirmed that nothing was there.<\/p>\n

The doctor came and confirmed that he was dead. And that was it!\u201d<\/p>\n

He said because Keshi was not a patient at the hospital, his death
\ncertificate could not be produced there.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs such, we decided to involve the police who inspected the body before
\nthe hospital staff were able to deposit it in the mortuary.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet no one speculate, for the avoidance of doubt that is why we want to
\ndo an autopsy.<\/p>\n

That is why we are not embalming his body now. We are going to preserve
\nhim until the experts can do the proper pathology on the body before we
\ncan now embalm and start talking about burying him and, I think at that
\npoint, we can now lay everything to rest.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time between when we carried him from the house to the hospital was
\nnot more than 20 minutes when the doctor confirmed him dead on arrival,\u201d
