Dangiwa Umar (rtd)<br \/>\nassigned to probe the spending of the bail out fund released by the<br \/>\nfederal government for the payment of outstanding salary arrears of<br \/>\nworkers in the state to the Governor Mohammed Abdulahi-led administration<br \/>\nelected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n<p>Pointblanknews.com gathered \u200ethat aides, who served under Mu&#8217;azu and<br \/>\nYuguda administrations sued Bauchi State government, demanding payment of<br \/>\ntheir entitlement to the tune of N2billion. The suit prompted the freezing<br \/>\nof government accounts by the court in response to the prayers of the<br \/>\nformer aides pending the settlement of the claims.<\/p>\n<p>The court order is, however, coming at a time the government cannot pay<br \/>\nsalary arrears of workers and pensioners in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Our correspondent also gathered that the Bauchi State Governor is now<br \/>\nusing the issue of frozen account as the reason for his non-performance<br \/>\nand delay in payment of workers salaries and pension in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The government is owing workers and pensioners five months outstanding<br \/>\nsalaries arrears.<\/p>\n<p>Also, in a similar vein, a Federal Government high powered committee<br \/>\nheaded by former Kaduna State Governor Colonel Umar DanGiwa, was in Bauchi<br \/>\nto investigate the reckless spending of the bailout fund and other loans<br \/>\nGovernor Abubakar collected without the approval of the legislature.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government is worried that Bauchi which gave President Buhari<br \/>\none of the highest votes in 2015 and 2007 is almost rendered ungovernable<br \/>\nfollowing the non-payment of salaries occasioned by a protracted<br \/>\nverification exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Pointblanknews.com further learned that Governor Abubakar has relocated<br \/>\nall his family members to Abuja for fear of attack by workers and irate<br \/>\nyouth in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The governor, like a golden fish that has no hiding place, is regularly<br \/>\nstoned by irate youth and frustrated pensioners anywhere he visited<br \/>\nforcing him to transfer all official engagement especially courtesy calls<br \/>\nand signing of files to Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>It would be recalled that Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar had raised<br \/>\nalarm, on assuming duties, that he met an empty treasury left by the<br \/>\nimmediate past Governor, Isa Yuguda.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2026 Governor relocates family, official engagements to Abuja \u2026As Col Dangiwa Umar FG team visits state Following unpaid arrears of allowances and benefits to former aides of former Bauchi State&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":50030,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-50029","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
