Rampaging militants under the aegis of Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), have<\/p>\n
called for supports from the international community to ensure the
\nactualization of the secession of the oil rich Niger Delta from the
\nNigerian state.<\/p>\n
In their latest statement, signed by \u2018Brigadier General\u2019 Mudock Agbinibo,
\ntitled \u2018\u2019enough of this injustice\u2019\u2019, the group reiterated its vows to
\ncause more havoc on the economy until their demands are met.<\/p>\n
They painted a picture of gloom and woes in the Niger Delta since oil and
\ngas were discovered, accusing the successive administration of paying lip
\nservice to the plight of the people in the region.<\/p>\n
The group said it wants to control the resources from the region to
\nrestore the essence of human life in the region for generations to come
\nbecause Nigeria has failed to do that for the people.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019We are calling on the international community especially Britain,
\nFrance, the United State of America, Russia, China and European Union to
\nspeak up against this ongoing terror and come to the aid of the Niger
\nDelta, as witnesses to this grave inhumanity and history of terror
\nperpetuated against the people of the Niger Delta daily\u2019\u2019, the statement
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
It added: \u201c\u201dSince the day crude oil was discovered in commercial quantity
\nand quality in Oloibiri, present day Bayelsa State, what we have being
\nasking from successive governments in Nigeria is portable drinking water
\nin the midst of plenty of water mass, electricity, roads,<\/p>\n
employment, quality education\/educational facilities, resource control,
\nparticipation in the<\/p>\n
oil business and inclusive governance that will engender substantial freedom.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019The reserve have been the case, from Oloibiri, Brass LNLG and export
\nterminals in Bayelsa; Bonny LNLG and export terminals in Riverstate;
\nExxonMobil in Akwa Ibom; Escravos EGTL\/ Tankfarm and export terminals;
\nForcados Tankfarm and export terminals in<\/p>\n
Delta state operated respectively by Anglo-Dutch Shell, Chevron\/Texaco
\nOverseas, Agip ENI, ExxonMobil. The history of the communal lives is
\nterror of poverty, inhumanity and desolate living conditions. But when you
\nmove into these facilities operated by the Multinational Oil Corporations,
\nthey are living like Kings and Presidents.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019For over five decades, we have given Multinational Oil Corporations and
\ntheir collaborator the Nigerian State peace, cooperation and love for the
\ncrude oil to flow unhindered from our land. The continuous tranquillity is
\nonly manifesting in the development of mountains, rock, valleys, deserts
\nand lagoon but the Niger Delta territory<\/p>\n
continually alienated from all types of development and all essence of
\nquality human life.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Meanwhile, all successive government worships the crude oil taken from
\nthe region.<\/p>\n
Our communities and the people are only good at securing the pipelines,
\noil and gas facilities.<\/p>\n
What a tragedy? \u2018\u2019<\/p>\n
NDA vowed that it would resist \u2018\u2019this history of terror\u2019\u2019 and correct with
\nevery means necessary\u2019\u2019 as it has nothing to lose in the battles ahead,
\nbut appealed that \u2018\u2019the world should not wait until we go the Sudan
\nways.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Continuing, the statement said: \u2018\u2019Justice they say is only found within
\nthe structure of a nation state, rather than provide this justice the
\nNigerian government has decided to mobilise her military might to
\nintimidate, torture, maim, victimise and bombard a section of the nation
\nstate and her citizenry to allow the free flow of our oil.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Some persons, groups, and commentators may ask, what do the people of
\nNiger delta want?<\/p>\n
We are not like some of these personalities who run champagne parties or
\nturn Rivers State Government House into a house patrimony of god-sons and
\nprebendalism.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019They says the progress and success of a nation state is the reflection
\nof her constitution that is not manufactured to favour some section and
\nexcludes the yearning and aspirations of others; but the indwelling
\nspiritual and historical development of its people.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Since the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914 to date, our resources have
\nbeen used to sustain the political administrative live wire of Nigeria to
\nthe exclusion of the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Finally, we are calling on the international community, to come and
\nsupport the restoration of our right to peaceful self-determination from
